An anchor bolt is a connecting fastener used for holding down crane rails to a concrete foundation or steel sole plate. It is usually designed with threads on one end and a bent or anchor structure on the other end. Its function is to firmly connect the crane rail clip, rail bottom, or steel plate to the track foundation to ensure the stability, pull-out resistance, and safety of the track system in long-term operation.
AGICO provides a variety of anchor bolts for crane rails and other applications. Main types include: L-shaped bolts, J-shaped bolts, U-shaped bolts, 9-shaped bolts, reinforcing plate concrete foundation bolts, and subway foundation embedded segment bolts.

Various anchor bolts for a concrete foundation
When installing crane rails, it is a critical step to use embedded bolts to fix the iron plate (such as crane rail clips, steel sole plate, etc.) structure. Bolts come in a variety of shapes, such as L-type, J-type, U-type, 9-type, Y-shaped bolts, etc. Their design differences are mainly to adapt to different force requirements, construction methods, structural conditions, and installation environments, as follows:

1. L-type embedded bolts
Purpose: Used in concrete foundations, embedded in advance, and cannot be removed after installation.
Advantages: Good pull-out resistance, stable force, suitable for heavy-load conditions.
Application scenarios: Foundation fixation of large bridge or gantry crane tracks.
2. J-type embedded bolts
Purpose: The use is similar to the L-type, but the hook angle is larger, and it is often used in compact sites or limited spaces.
Advantages: Stronger pull-out strength, which helps prevent displacement or bolt rotation.
Application scenarios: Foundation fixation of large bridge or gantry crane tracks.
3. U-type bolts
Purpose: Used to clamp the track on the I-beam or H-beam, not directly embedded.
Advantages: Easy installation and can be repeatedly disassembled and assembled.
Application scenarios: Steel structure track installation, no concrete foundation required.
4. All Threaded Rods
Purpose: Used for fixing the rail clips in the crane rail system, anchoring the foundation, or connecting the equipment installation.
Advantages: Simple structure, can be cut to a fixed length, flexible installation, suitable for pre-embedded or post-anchor construction.
Application scenarios: Commonly used in engineering occasions such as rail installation, steel structure connection, pipeline hoisting, etc.
5. 9-Shaped Anchor Bolts
Purpose: Used for embedding in concrete foundation, suitable for scenarios that require strong pull-out resistance but limited hook space.
Advantages: The hook angle is approximately “9” shaped, which is more compact than L-type or J-type, and is more advantageous when the structural space is limited or multiple sets of bolts need to be arranged in a centralized manner.
Application scenarios: Bridge crane tracks, equipment foundations, mechanical equipment fixation, and anchor bolt cluster arrangement occasions.
6. Welded anchor bolts with reinforcing plate
Purpose: Weld a reinforcing steel plate in the middle or tail end of the screw to work with concrete to improve the overall anchoring performance.
Advantages: The welded steel plate forms a large-area anchor end, which greatly improves the pull-out and shear resistance.
Application scenarios: It is more evenly stressed than the traditional L-type/J-type structure, and is suitable for high-impact and high-vibration conditions.
7. Customized special-shaped anchor bolts (such as Y-shaped bolts)
Purpose: adapt to the special working conditions of different rail types or installation methods.
Advantages: The bifurcated design creates a larger anchoring area, effectively preventing the bolt from rotating or shifting. It is suitable for non-through-hole structures or installation positions with asymmetric forces.
Application scenarios: Heavy crane rail foundations, steel structure supports, equipment base fixation, installation projects of special-shaped embedded parts.
Comparison table of common anchor bolt types for crane rails

| Anchor bolt type | Applicable senario | Pull-out resistance | Installation flexibility | Spatial adaptability | Standard or not |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| L-shaped anchor bolts | Concrete fondation | ★★★★☆ | ★★★☆☆ | ★★★☆☆ | Yes(some) |
| J-shaped anchor bolts | Concrete fondation | ★★★★★ | ★★★☆☆ | ★★☆☆☆ | Yse(some) |
| U-shaped anchor bolts | Steel structure | ★★☆☆☆ | ★★★★★ | ★★★★★ | Yes |

Note:
Pull-out resistance: refers to the ability of bolts to withstand external forces in the vertical direction, which directly affects the safety of the track during operation.
Installation flexibility: refers to the convenience of on-site construction, adjustment, and maintenance.
Spatial adaptability: refers to the adaptability in confined spaces (such as dense layout, multi-track installation, etc.);
Is it a standard part: whether there are current national/industry standards that can be directly selected, or non-standard parts need to be customized and designed, and produced.
Common materials for bent foundation bolts
The materials commonly used for anchor bolts of lifting rails are mainly the following, which meet the requirements of strength, corrosion resistance, and use environment:
Carbon Steel
The most common material, with low cost, is suitable for a general industrial environment.
Surface treatment (such as hot-dip galvanizing, electrogalvanizing, and anti-rust coating) is required to prevent corrosion.
Alloy Steel
Add alloy elements (such as chromium, nickel, and molybdenum) to improve strength and wear resistance;
Commonly used for anchor bolts with large loads and high strength requirements.
Stainless Steel
Common models 304 and 316 have good corrosion resistance.
Suitable for humid, marine, and chemical corrosion environments, but the cost is relatively high.
Special materials
Such as high-strength low-alloy steel (HSLA), heat-resistant steel, etc., are customized according to special engineering needs.
Common grades and standards
Common grades of carbon steel: 4.8, 6.8, 8.8, 10.9, etc. Conform to national standards (GB/T) and international standards (ISO, DIN, ASTM) quality certification.
